<image:title>Young Researchers - A Circular Economy for Sustainability, not for Profit - Jennifer Hinton</image:title>
<image:caption>Dr. Jennifer Hinton is a researcher and activist in the field of sustainable economy. Her work focuses on how societies relate to profit and how this relationship affects global sustainability challenges. Her doctoral thesis puts forth relationship-to-profit theory, which explains how for-profit business structures systemically drive unsustainable dynamics, such as overconsumption, environmental degradation, and inequality; as well as why not-for-profit types business and markets are more compatible with sustainability. She started developing this theory with the Post Growth Institute in the book, How on Earth, which outlines a conceptual model of a not-for-profit market economy. As an activist, she collaborates with businesses and civil society organizations to transform the economy so that it can work for everyone within the ecological limits of the planet.</image:caption>

<image:title>Young Researchers - Putting things into perspective - is a circular economy sustainable 'by default'? - Mariia Kravchenko</image:title>
<image:caption>Mariia recently obtained a PhD degree from the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). Her 3 year-long research focused on understanding how to support a ‘hands-on’ sustainability assessment of circular economy initiatives for the manufacturing industry sector. Being a part of the Sustainable Product/Service-Systems research group at DTU and the Nordic research project CIRCit, her research focused on balancing theoretical findings and practical contribution to industry and society. Mariia has an interdisciplinary academic background within engineering and management science, which allows her using both to support decision-making for sustainability at all levels – strategic, tactical and operational. Her current work focuses on providing consultancy on sustainability measurements, assessment frameworks and target setting for various actors.</image:caption>
